To support PE Leads and accompanying staff in planning for participation in our events, we have provided a risk assessment for each competition and festival.
These risk assessments have been developed to reflect the common risks associated with CSP sporting events and can be adapted to meet the specific needs, procedures, and circumstances of your school, staff, and pupils.
Each risk assessment includes a core section applicable to the majority of events, alongside a sport-specific section that identifies any additional risks and control measures relevant to that activity. Some assessments may also include venue-specific information where particular site-based risks and controls need to be considered.
Whilst every effort has been made to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with these events, the pupils from your school remain the responsibility of your staff throughout the duration of the activity. We therefore ask that all attending staff review the risk assessment carefully, adapt it where necessary, and ensure that appropriate supervision, safeguarding, and health and safety arrangements are in place.
Should you have any concerns before or during an event, please speak to one of the CSP SSCos as soon as possible. We hope these documents provide a useful starting point and help reduce the time required to prepare your school for attendance at our events.
