Festival organiser Ali Goddard, from Wiltshire Cricket, confirmed that, for the first time in many years, the full Dynamos Schools competition couldn’t be completed due to the weather. Even so, enough of the final round was played to confirm two well‑earned qualifiers for the County Finals.
Congratulations to Queens Crescent and St Peter’s, who topped their groups and secured their places at the County Finals on Tuesday 7th July. Both teams played with real quality and consistency throughout the morning.
There’s still one final spot to be decided. Sutton Benger and St Paul’s will meet in a play‑off match, with the date to be confirmed.
To all the other schools, well played. The cricket on show was impressive, and every team contributed to a positive, competitive and enjoyable festival. Events like this only work because everyone turns up ready to play, support and get involved, and today was a great example of that.
A big thank you to the teachers, young officials and spectators who helped the day run smoothly and kept spirits high despite the weather. Even with the early finish, the festival showed just how much talent and enthusiasm there is for cricket across our local schools.
