The orienteering event is an interesting one and we really enjoy watching teams work together to plan their route and make their way around the field in the quickest time. As part of this event, teams of 10 complete a practise run using the specialised equipment, before taking on the main course, scanning in their device at each checkpoint.
Whilst they are not doing the competitive element, we invite teams to try and fun animal based orienteering game, using a star point method.
Both parts of the day are designed to get pupils active and also thinking about their surroundings, developing their navigational skills.
The results for this are based on overall team performance. Congratulations to:
1st – St Pauls
2nd – Kings Lodge
3rd – SSQ
Huge thanks to Ken and Team for providing their expertise for this event.
