Jubilee Games

The sun was shining for our first ever Jubilee Games event to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee coming up next month. Over 250 children from reception and year 1 attended Abbeyfield School to complete different fun stations, each with its own royal twist! Our royal event started and finished with a procession behind the amazing Abbeyfield Samba band. The pupils then had the chance to try activities such as ‘what’s the time your majesty’ and ‘beefeater balance’. They were also really keen to get their faces painted with lots of Royal Jubilee designs! The biggest excitement for the day was being able to meet the ‘the Queen’ in real life – well done to SSCO Selina Porter for dressing the part!

It was brilliant to see so many happy and smiley pupils, all getting stuck into the activities and trying their hardest. This has definitely been a highlight of the year so far! In the words of Eloise, age 5 “I didn’t want the fun to stop!” Thank you to all of the schools who got involved and to all of the fantastic young people, both pupils and leaders, for making the event such a success!
