Girls’ Football Festival “Made for this Game”

Our schools recently had the fantastic opportunity to take part in the largest girls’ football event, bringing together 407girls from local primary schools for an exciting morning of football and sport.

The event created a brilliant festival atmosphere where girls were able to meet pupils from other schools, work as part of mixed teams and build confidence while enjoying the game. By combining players from different schools, the event encouraged teamwork, communication and new friendships while celebrating a shared enthusiasm for football.

Throughout the morning, pupils took part in a variety of activities. Some groups competed in matches across several pitches, while others rotated through skills and drills stations where they practised ball control, passing and movement in fun, fast-paced sessions.

One of the highlights of the day was the chance to take part in a session led by Libby, a first team player from Swindon Town F.C., who delivered an inspiring activity for the girls. Pupils also had the opportunity to try team building activities, delivered by Wiltshire Council, which introduced them to a new sport and added another exciting element to the morning.

Our pupils showed fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the event. It was wonderful to see so many girls enjoying football, supporting one another, making new friends and developing their confidence through sport.

A great morning had by all!
