What a brilliant morning spent with our primary school partners at today’s PLT meeting! A huge thank you to all the schools who attended: Monkton Park, Ivy Lane, Frogwell, Redland, Stanton St Quinton, Queen’s Crescent, Derry Hill, and St Peter’s. It was wonderful to welcome guest speakers Abbie Morrisey and Ali Goddard, Jo Parsons, who shared fantastic insights into physical education and school sport.
We began by celebrating the incredible Selina, who has given so much to the Chippenham Sports Partnership and will be retiring this year—thank you for everything, Selina!
We shared exciting updates on upcoming events including our successful Mini Marathon, the much-anticipated Dinosaur Egg Hunt, Cup to Plate football, summer scavenger hunts, the Arc trip, Chippenham Games, Para Games, and Dauntsey’s events.
Abbie introduced the Swim:Ed programme and EYFS Motor Screening course—both powerful tools for improving fundamental movement and swimming skills. Ali from Chance to Shine inspired us with engaging cricket CPD and play sessions, and we’re looking forward to the Dynamos competition on 16th May!
A shoutout to Jo Parsons for sharing the amazing girls-only cricket opportunities at Chippenham Cricket Club—encouraging more KS2 girls to get involved in sport.
We wrapped up with updates on PE benchmarking tools, sports premium news, and our new-look newsletters—watch this space!
Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed. It’s always exciting to see the passion and teamwork across our schools. Let’s keep building on this momentum!
