The level 2 Touch Rugby competition is usually fast paced and exciting – this years was no exception! The squads of 12 arrived to a cold, wet day but maaged to brave the weather to produce some excellent play. The pupils involved were a credit to their schools as they passed the ball between them, making some excellent ‘tags’ and scoring some amazing tries. It was clear that lots of teams had been practising hard and were well organised – applying formations and rules efefctively.
As the pool stages came to a close, it was clear that the final would be between Kings Lodge and Redland. The final was another exciting game with both teams showing determination, outstanding teamwork and some very speedy attacking runs into space. At the final whistle Kings Lodge emerged victorious and were the well deserved champions, havin not lost a game all day!
Chippenham Sports Partnership would like to thank Chippenham Rugby Club for hosting us on their ATP which is a fantastic facility, as well as providing hot dogs to all of the pupils involved! We would also like to say thankyou to Geraint Lewis from Up and Under Sports for helping us with the event and for his rugby expertise!
