This event replaced the usual L2 hockey tournament and the decision to move to Quik Sticks was to encourage more children to give it a go, even if they didn’t have much hockey experience.
After a warmup, each of the pupils had a chance to try some basic hockey skills. They were taught how to dribble the ball by keeping it close to them and under control. They then progressed to passing and started to try out some push passes to each other. After completing some fun skills challenges the teams moved onto small games where they got to try out their new skills.
It was fantastic to see everyone fully immerse themselves in the hockey experience and the standard of play as pupils became more confident. Well done to all involved!
Huge thanks to Jackie Stanley from Wiltshire Hockey for all of her support with this event.
