Today we welcomed children from five local primary schools to an exciting All Active Academy event designed to introduce them to new activities and encourage them to get involved in different sports.
The event focused on giving children the chance to try something they may not have experienced before, helping to build confidence, develop new skills and, most importantly, have fun while being active.
Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of engaging activities. One of the highlights was the climbing wall, where participants searched for hidden treasure while bouldering their way across the wall. This challenge combined problem solving with physical activity and quickly became a favourite among the group.
Children also had the opportunity to try New Age Kurling, where they practiced their aim and strategy, as well as a variety of target practice challenges using different objects to test their accuracy and coordination.
Our fantastic Sports Leaders also designed and delivered an incredible pirate-themed adventure in the gym. The children worked their way through a series of exciting challenges including rowing, cycling and sledge pushing as they searched for the stolen treasure. Of course, not every pirate’s journey went smoothly, and some unlucky sailors even found themselves walking the plank!
The energy, teamwork and enthusiasm shown by all the children made the day a huge success, and it was fantastic to see so many smiles throughout the event.
Fun was had by all, and we are already looking forward to welcoming the same group of children back later in the year for another exciting visit to The Arc.
