Hosted by Chippenham Rugby Club, the annual tag rugby festival is a fantastic way for some of our pupils to experience some competitive rugby, but in a fun and relaxed way. With 13 teams spread over 2 pools, there were plenty of opportunities for teams to play. As always, the pupils became more confident as the tournament progressed and we saw some excellent examples of attacking running and defensive lines.
The top teams from each pool went through to the final, resulting in a Monkton Park and Queens Crescent play off. After a tough game and excellent teamwork from both sides the overall winners were Queens Crescent!
The Chippenham Sports Partnership would like to thank Chippenham Rugby Club, especially Kev, for hosting this tournament and for providing with all of the lucky competitors (and teachers!) with a hot dog. We are really grateful to have the opportunity to use the APG. If your child is interested in playing rugby then please find out more details on the clubs website:
We would also like to thank Geraint Lewis from Up and Under Sports for supporting the event and sharing his rugby expertise with everyone.
