Friday 5th December 2025!

Today marked a fantastic double-festival celebration as we launched our Multi-Skills Day at Abbeyfield! Our Reception and Year 1 children took part in a range of Christmas-themed activity stations, each designed to help them develop key physical skills while having plenty of festive fun.

Throughout the morning, children rotated through stations that encouraged jumping, skipping, throwing, balancing, and working together with friends. Laughter, teamwork, and Christmas cheer filled every corner of the space!

Adding to the excitement, the children even had a surprise visit from the big man himself – Santa! His arrival brought huge smiles and a magical touch to an already wonderful start to the day.

We received some lovely feedback from the children of Bramble class:

It was quite cold but it was lots of fun

I loved it

I really enjoyed it, especially turning the cones over game

I had lots of fun

It was the best thing

It was very fun

I liked the parachute game

I had so much fun and I liked it

From 11am, the action continued as we headed over to Stanley Park, where more than 150 Year 5 and Year 6 pupils competed in the mixed and girls-only football competitions. The atmosphere was electric, with some outstanding performances from both individuals and teams during the highly competitive group stages.

After the initial rounds, teams moved into a tiered pool structure, ensuring exciting matches right to the end. St Peter’s were crowned the overall champions of the mixed competition, delivering a brilliant display of teamwork and determination. St Paul’s took the title in the girls’ tournament, showcasing fantastic skill and spirit throughout the day.

Well done all!
