After days of rain, and very soggy fields, we made the decision to turn our annual Christmas Cross Country into a Winter Wonderland Welly Walk! On arrival pupils were taken through the annual 12 Days of Christmas Dance and it was great to see nearly 500 pupils (and lots of staff!) acting out movements like 3 French Hens and 7 Swans a Swimming! There was excitement in the air when we were joined by a very special guest…Santa! Supported by his 2 reindeers and Elsa we had lots of happy smiles and high 5’s!
We then moved onto the main event! Due to the last minute changes, each group were set off around the course with a mission to find certain Christmas characters and to answers some questions. What did Santa have in his sleigh? Where were Bert the bauble and Crystal the snowflake? What colour were the gingerbread mans buttons? Thankfully our giant cut outs provided the answers as pupils made their way around the fields.
At the end everyone was treated to a Christmas ‘mocktail’ which was kindly donated by Tescos. We were thrilled to have been joined by Sue and Adrian from Chippenham Tescos who not only provided the drinks but also acted as our official starters for each group! On behalf of everyone who attended the event we would like to express our thanks for all of their support.
