Chippenham Sports Partnership aim to improve the sporting experience of students in the Chippenham area. We support the primary schools within our partnership by providing opportunities for CPD and organising high-quality events throughout the year. Each year we offer approximately 52 events including:
Chippenham Games – a fantastic 2 day event which gives all year 6 pupils the opportunity to try out exciting new activities whilst getting to make friends from other schools, in preparation for their move to secondary.
Dance Festival – held over 2 evenings each primary school within the partnership is invited to bring a group of students to showcase their dancing talent. We are always super impressed with the energy, confidence and enthusiasm pupils bring to this event.
Para Games – an all inclusive event for students with SEND, this is a great experience for pupils from local schools to try out activities such as new age kurling.
Christmas Cross Country – a fun filled Christmas themed cross country run, starting with aerobics with Father Christmas and ending in a cup of hot chocolate!
The partnership is made up of representatives from each of the 3 main secondary schools; Selina Porter (Sheldon), Jessica Pierce (Abbeyfield) and Emma Barton (Hardenhuish). Developing leadership in our students is key and most events are supported by Sports Ambassadors from the secondary schools, as well as our young leaders and young officials from primary schools who we provide training for.
